The project involved the high-resolution 3D documentation of Panayia Akentou Church, a 17th-century monument located in Lefke, in the occupied northern part of Cyprus.
The on-site data acquisition was carried out using TLS technology, enabling precise spatial documentation of both the exterior and interior of the church. The level of detail achieved allowed for a ±2mm accuracy in capturing critical architectural features.
This digital documentation supports the long-term preservation of historical memory, facilitates future restoration planning, and serves as a reliable source for architectural research. The project minimizes the need for repeated physical access while ensuring an accessible and measurable record of the monument’s condition.
Deliverables:
High-accuracy 3D point cloud in *.e57 and .rcp formats
Orthophotos of external façades and interior decorative elements
Photographic documentation of the current state of preservation
